Facing the lack of sufficient attention to the common condition of varicose vein disease by the medical community at large, Dr. Fattahi became committed to mastering the field of phlebology by focusing on new effective non-surgical treatment methods for varicose veins & unsightly vein problems, a commitment that started in 1991. Since 1991, he has provided more than 60,000 successful vein treatment sessions using non-surgical modern methods. Dr. Fattahi is amongst the first physicians in US to be certified by American Board of Phlebology. He is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Fattahi is the inventor of the new “Foam-Wash Sclerotherapy” treatment method (Patent Pending), intended to safely eliminate large varicose veins, while reducing the risk of deep vein thrombosis. Dr. Fattahi first presented his invention at the 2010 Sclerotherpay Conference in Italy. He is the first physician in Northern California to implement the clinical use of both major breakthroughs (VNUS Closure & ELVeS/EVLT). Dr. Fattahi is also one of the first physicians in California to use Foam-Sclerotherapy in the treatment of different types of varicose veins. Internationally, each of these treatments constitute a great advancement in non-surgical therapy of varicose veins, & great alternatives to traditional ligation & stripping surgery for most patients.
Dr. Fattahi completed his internship & residency training at ?St. Barnabas Hospital, affiliated with New York Hospital Cornell University in 1987. He is certified by American Board of Phlebology & American Board of Internal Medicine. He has provided presentations & training workshops to numerous physicians & surgeons both at his clinic & at major medical conferences & seminars in the field of phlebology (modern treatment of varicose veins)

Spider veins are small, irregular, purplish or bluish unsightly vessels. Slightly larger and greenish veins, always feed spider veins. Achieving good results depends on treatment of spider and feeder veins.
Varicose veins always result from abnormal flow of blood in opposite the normal direction. In such cases, there is an incompetence of the one way barriers (valves) between the deep and superficial leg vein systems, leading to abnormal flow of blood from the larger deep veins into the superficial smaller veins and creation of bulging varicose veins that often have a zigzag pattern and cause a variety of symptoms.
