First, Some Facts About Phlebology:
Varicose and unsightly veins are amongst most common medical and aesthetic problems in medicine. In the United States about 20% of adults suffer from varicose veins. Modern treatment of varicose and unsightly veins has improved tremendously during the past decade. However, these breakthroughs have gone unnoticed by the medical community at large, due to the fact there are only very few competent physicians in this field and most physicians and medical schools have shown little interest in treating this common problem.

Modern treatment of varicose veins is probably the most ignored subject in medicine by medical schools and medical communities. Lacking in depth knowledge of modern phlebology and its' capabilities, many physicians still believe that ligation/stripping is the only effective treatment for varicose veins. In fact, with access to many new effective in-office treatment techniques, it is time to consider ligation/stripping surgery "an obsolete".

The number of teaching physicians in residency and fellowship programs who themselves are competent in modern phlebology is far less than the need. Different medical disciplines and specialties, such as dermatology and surgery and vascular surgery, have only touched upon small aspects of phlebology and usually in a very broken and deficient manner.

Dr. Fattahi is an excellent instructor who enjoys teaching. What I appreciated most about Dr. Fattahi was his intellectual honesty in dealing with vein diseases and treatment in the face of so much hype nowadays. I recommend Dr Fattahi highly.

Dear Dr. Fattahi:

Thank you for an excellent full-day demonstration of the endovenous laser obliteration procedure at your clinic. The clinic is spaceous, pleasant and well organised for patient flow. Your staff are open, friendly, informative, and ready to help and advise, both in supply and in billing information. All the procedures went smoothly, with demonstrated expertise and experience. Instructions were given in minute details, with plenty of time for questions and explanations.

Every aspect of the procedure, from supplies, setup, patient evaluation, patient positioning, instrument placement, post op care etc, was gone over in depth and in a logical fashion. I find the experience most valuable and helpful in planning for a new clinic.

I am a vascular surgeon and have been thinking about building a vein practice for several months. I recently spent two days with Dr. Khalil Fattahi at his vein specialty clinic in Los Gatos. I was impressed with the excellent results in his patients who have a variety of complex and challenging problems, and with the universal satisfaction of his patients.

I was able to observe the newest advances in sclerotherapy and its application to a wide spectrum of venous disease- including foam sclerotherapy as well as endovenous laser ablation of the Greater SaphenousVein. Importantly, Dr. Fattahi uses duplex ultrasonagraphy in the evaluation and during treatment of his patients. This seems to be an invaluable technique which undoubtably contributes to his excellent results. I am very excited to bring these techniques to our community.

Dear Dr. Fattahi:

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to spend a couple of days with you in your Vein Speciality Clinic. Throughout my 18 years of private practice in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery I have been to numerous seminars and forums for continuing medical education. The time I spent in Los Gatos was one of the most worthwhile and informative, giving me the experience to expand the scope of our services. Having the opportunity to see your results first hand, especially after viewing the before photos, was most impressive. It was extremely helpful to observe the complete spectrum of problems and to see patients from their initial evaluation and diagnostic studies through an entire course of therapeutic modalities for venous disease including sclerotherapy and endovenous laser. Having seen you at work gives me the comfort and confidence to further pursue treatment of even complex venous disorders. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Respectfully,

Dear Dr. Fattahi,

It was a pleasure being in training with you in the warm atmosphere of your office.

I have been practicing Phlebology in the past and after visiting your wonderful clinic and well established practice I am confident to continue it. The one-on-one training session with your personal attention provided me with the most recent information in diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders. Sclerotherapy in your hands replaces almost all invasive treatments of veins with excellent cosmetic results. The practical secrets and hints you teach during the training were extremely helpful. I have seen how and why your patients are so happy and grateful with your excellent job.

Thank you for all your time, efforts, and for the excellent training and experience.
